What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that acts like a natural tooth root. Implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth or multiple teeth.
Unlike removable dentures or traditional bridges, implants integrate directly with your jawbone to provide a long-lasting solution to gaps in your smile.
Dental implants can help prevent surrounding teeth from shifting, improve bite function, and reduce strain on the jaw joints. They also help preserve your jawbone, maintain facial structure, and support overall oral health.
For many patients, implants offer a long-term solution that feels and functions much like natural teeth, helping you eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
Say Goodbye to Loose Dentures with All-on-4 Implants
Missing most or all of your teeth? All-on-4 dental implants offer a stable, long-lasting alternative to traditional dentures. This procedure involves placing just four carefully positioned implants to support a full arch of replacement teeth, giving you a secure and natural-feeling smile. Many patients are excited to see their new smile the very same day, thanks to temporary teeth that are placed during the first appointment.
The Dental Implant Process
The dental implant process involves three main components: the implant (a titanium screw), an abutment, and the replacement tooth.
The procedure begins with your dentist surgically placing the implant into the jawbone beneath the gum tissue. Over time, the implant gradually integrates with the bone, creating a stable foundation for the replacement tooth.
After a healing period of about three to six months, you will return to the office to complete the restoration. At this stage, a custom-made replacement, such as a crown, bridge, or denture, is attached to the implant using the abutment, which acts as a connector between the implant screw and the dental restoration.
This final restoration is designed to restore both the appearance and function of your smile.
